Plan to join your colleagues in Staten Island's not-for-profit community at the Staten Island NFP Association's Annual Meeting taking place from 2pm to 5pm on June 29th at the Vanderbilt at South Beach. The featured presenter at this year's Annual Meeting is Dr. Joseph Salvo, chief of the New York City Department of City Planning's Population Unit and the person who is the City's expert on analyzing and describing changes in population trends that are occurring Citywide. In short, Dr. Salvo is the person who has and can share the real data about the people and communities in our Borough who need the services of not-for-profits. You likely know how much funders and evaluators have over the past few years been focusing on obtaining and using relevant data to inform strategic and program decisions at not-for-profits. They want to know that you have acquired the data, have analyzed it, and have made your planning decisions based on that analysis. Dr. Salvo is one of the key people in the City who can get you that data about changes in population and about key socioeconomic indicators such as poverty rates, ethnic backgrounds, educational attainment, and so on. He will be presenting much of this information at the Annual Meeting on June 29th and can serve as an ongoing resource for you to obtain this kind of data in the future. Following Dr. Salvo's presentation we will host a cocktail reception at the Vanderbilt, which all attendees are welcome to attend at no cost. You are encouraged to invite members of your staff, Board members, volunteers, and colleagues from not-for-profits who are not currently SINFPA members to attend the Annual Meeting with you.
