The folks at the Richmond County Savings Foundation have asked us to remind our members about the second phase of their Strategic Planning grant initiative.  Please review the below information and, if you fit the criteria, feel free to apply directly to the Foundation for consideration.

Strategic Planning Grants 2010

Richmond County Savings Foundation is continuing the second phase of the Strategic Planning Grants Program.   In response to the underrepresented Good Governance initiatives and RCSF’s firm belief that good governance programs be encouraged for  non-profits, the Foundation will award a $1,000 grant to pay for expenses related to Governance Initiatives including but not limited to:

• * Governance Seminars for Board Members

• * Staff participation in a Strategic Planning Good Governance Seminar

• * Board Assessments including traditional fiduciary responsibility and strategic   
    work conducted by a professional facilitator

RCSF will award $1,000 grants to the first 52 Staten Island not-for-profits who successfully submit proposals.   NO MATCH IS REQUIRED.  A Strategic Planning Grant does not preclude an organization from applying for an additional grant during the year. 

Rules:

* The organization must have a current IRS Determination Letter 501(c)(3) as a public charity.

* Organization must complete the attached application and return to the Foundation no later than May 1, 2010.

* SI NFP groups can only receive one $1,000 campaign grant. You may not apply if you participated in the first phase of the Strategic Planning Program.

The application must be submitted by May 1, 2010 and approved by the Foundation. The grant must be expended and required project documentation submitted to RCSF by November 1, 2010 in order to receive the reimbursement.

You will be notified if your project is approved.

The grant will be finalized after you provide documentation. You will be required to submit proof of the function, bills or invoices, canceled checks, and a final listing of actual expenditures. You will be required to submit project documentation as applicable before the program deadline of November 1, 2010. If you do not submit your documentation by that date, you will be ineligible regardless of your May 1, 2010 approval.
