SINFPA Committees

The Staten Island NFP Association is restructuring our committee structure, and is interested in hearing from representatives of member organizations with an interest in helping to shape the Association's programming and determine the level of impact that the Association will bring to the Borough's not-for-profit community.

Members with an interest in any of the following committees are encouraged to review the brief committee descriptions below and to contact the Association to find out more about how to join:

Government Relations and Advocacy

  • Help to identify sector-wide issues on which SINFPA can advocate to elected officials and the media

  • Devise a policy that guides the Association’s advocacy efforts

  • Devise an annual strategy for interacting with and garnering support from elected officials

  • Identify pertinent positions on which position papers should be drafted and distributed

  • Help to establish media outreach timelines and activities for prominent SINFPA programs or events.

Business Relations

  • Working with SINFPA members and select business leaders, help to identify the most pressing issues that exist between private and not-for-profit organizations on Staten Island

  • Conduct meetings and private interviews with interested and invested stakeholders to help identify ways in which to address these challenges

  • Produce policies or guidelines that highlight the steps that both private and not-for-profit organizations can take to help overcome identified obstacles

  • Oversee the Vendor Recognition Initiative, if desired.

Conferences and Annual Meeting

Help with all facets of the planning and implementation of an Annual
Conference and Meeting, including:

  • Help to identify and secure sponsor(s)
